Explore the World Together through Books
As a parent, one of my goals is to encourage a lifelong love of learning in my children. One of the ways I can do that is by reading to them. I am amazed at what they pick up from simply just me reading to them. Consistent reading time has ignited advancements in their language skills, understanding of the world around them, imagination, and curiosity in academic subjects. Both of my children have expressed at a young age a desire to learn their letters and numbers. Since they are read to so often, it has sparked a curiosity to learn and explore deeper. Beyond academics, I love seeing how reading has expanded their imaginations as they pretend parts of a story we read together. Reading has also opened the doors to conversations and questions. Often my days are filled with questions connected to things we have read together. This has given me many opportunities to have conversations about the exciting world of science, the bible, the world around us, and so much more. Because of this, my children and I have a deeper bond and a consistent time where we spend quality time together.
